Ten Rods

7M 4F (some parts flexible)

Set on an allotment, this funny and engaging story tells the tale of pensioners and old army comrades, Walter, Alf and Joe's feud with their new

neighbour; Shadbolt. When the old chaps discover that Shadbolt has a nasty past and worse is beating up his girl friend, Sylvia, they decide that

the world would be a better place with out him, but Shadbolt’s past catches up with him complicating their plans.

First performed in Southampton in 2013, Ten Rods received glowing reviews from the critics “A Triumph” – “Genuine Moment’s of hilarity”. It

was also played at the Venture theatre, in 2018 in Ashby to full houses. Ken Ward, the chairman of the Theatre said “This play was a great

success , the audience loved it and was our biggest box office earners for some years.
