The Farewell

The play takes place in an intensive care ward. There are two beds, one with a curtain around and the other has the four main characters; Joe, Dave, Mary, and Jane sitting around the bed saying their goodbyes to their mother/grandmother, prior to the life support machine being turned off

Characters

Mother - Non speaking, late 60/70’s

Mary - daughter, late 40/50’s’s

Dave - son, mid 40/50’s

Jane - granddaughter, teens/20’s (oldest)

Joe - grandson, mid teens/20’s

Nurse - any age

Man - 40’s plus, from Turkey or Asian accent.
